Managing psychosocial risks has become front of mind for every Australian business recently, but the difficulty arises when employers are required to practically address these risks to foster a high-performance culture.

As a first step, it is crucial for managers to have a strong overview of their workplace's culture, which includes:

  • How employees' work is designed - do they have enough job control, how to monitor job demands etc
  • What leadership behaviours trigger and/or influence psychosocial risks

Many businesses (including leaders, WHS and HR professionals) need more practical guidance on how to meet their legal obligations of identifying and preventing psychosocial risks while aiming to drive a highly productive workforce.
