A respectful workplace requires more than awareness of policies and expected behaviour.

Employees need to understand what respectful conduct looks like in practice, how to respond when something does not feel right and where to seek support.

Leaders need the confidence to address concerns early and respond appropriately when issues are raised

iHR Australia's in-house programs are available for employees, people leaders, Contact Officers, executives and boards. Each program connects legal and policy context with realistic workplace situations so participants understand both their responsibilities and the practical choices available to them.

Programs within Building Respectful Workplaces & Workplace Culture

Respect in the Workplace

This program helps employees, volunteers and contractors understand the behaviour expected in a respectful workplace.

It explains discrimination, bullying, harassment and sexual harassment in practical language, while clarifying individual responsibilities, bystander choices and the options for resolution.

The learning is grounded in recognisable workplace situations rather than abstract definitions. Participants examine how everyday conduct can impact colleagues and culture, how context matters, and what constructive action looks like when they experience or observe behaviour that does not meet the expected standard.

Designed for:
Employees, contractors and volunteers

Custodians of Culture

This leader-focused program examines how managers shape workplace culture through what they model, reinforce, challenge and allow.

Contact Officer Training

This practical program prepares current and prospective Contact Officers to provide an approachable, impartial and appropriately confidential first point of contact for employees raising workplace behaviour concerns.

It clarifies the purpose and limits of the role, including understanding the difference between providing information and support, and not investigating a complaint, giving advice and making decisions.

Participants practise listening, explaining options, maintaining boundaries, keeping appropriate records and recognising when a concern requires referral or escalation. The program can also be used to refresh an established network and improve consistency across locations.

Designed for:
New, prospective and existing Contact Officers, and employees responsible for coordinating a Contact Officer network.
