Jay Locke

As a Senior Workplace Relations Advisor at iHR Australia, Jay Locke helps organisations investigate complex workplace concerns through thorough, objective and evidence-based processes that support procedural fairness.

Jay brings more than 20 years’ investigation experience across government and private sector environments. His background spans criminal, workplace misconduct, safeguarding, compliance and factual investigations, including roles as a Detective Sergeant, investigations manager and principal investigator.

Jay takes a methodical approach to interviewing, gathering evidence and assessing conflicting accounts. He has managed significant concurrent caseloads and prepared detailed reports, findings and recommendations for senior stakeholders and external review bodies. His approach combines analytical rigour, practical risk awareness and professional stakeholder engagement, complemented by experience coaching investigators and delivering interview training.

Jay holds a Bachelor of Investigations from Charles Sturt University, an Advanced Diploma of Public Safety (Investigations), a Certificate III in Investigative Services and a Certificate IV in Building and Construction Management. He holds a NSW Class 2E Security Licence for private investigations and is a Justice of the Peace.
