Stephen Bell, Managing Director

As iHR Australia’s founder and Managing Director, Stephen Bell has led the expansion of the business into Asia, establishing iHR Asia Pacific in 2005. Under Stephen’s leadership, iHR Australia has established a varied client base in regional and metro areas across Australia and South-East Asia.

HR specialisation:

Stephen is an accomplished speaker, coach and mentor in the areas of leadership and workplace culture with those skills acknowledged across the South-East Asia region. Stephen is regularly engaged as a guest speaker and facilitates leadership programs for iHR’s local and international clients at the executive level.

Eileen Walsh, Director of Operations/Professional Services

Eileen steers iHR Australia’s project management, quality control and account management in the delivery of all professional services to iHR Australia’s clients.

HR specialisation:

Her 20 years’ experience encompasses a broad range of senior HR leadership roles including managing significant projects. Eileen’s success has been in developing and resourcing cost effective HR solutions and models for iHR Australia’s clients.



John Boardman, Director of Workplace Relations

John has an extensive background in human resource management and industrial relations. His expertise includes high-order analytical skills and a proven ability to assess strategic options. He has strong negotiating, advocacy and presentation skills.

John has over 30 years’ experience in human resource management, many spent at senior executive level.

HR specialisation:

John is a competent ‘hands-on’ technician and has researched, prepared and conducted complex cases before both state and federal tribunals. These include full-bench appeals, arbitrated wrongful dismissal cases, award variation, the making of enterprise agreements and Australian Workplace Agreements, and construction site allowances. John has also provided advice to employers involved in major industrial relations disputes.

John has extensive experience in conducting independent workplace investigations into allegations of bullying and harassment, and has conducted major investigations in most industries including the health, manufacturing, energy, mining, education and transport industries. He co-facilitates iHR Australia’s Workplace Investigation Officer Training for Human Resource practitioners around Australia.
